IMPORTANT: Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using Tasker4U. By registering an account, accessing the Platform, or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy.

1. Introduction and Overview

Tasker4u ('we', 'our', 'us', or the 'Company') operates a digital marketplace platform that connects individuals and businesses seeking services ('Clients') with independent service providers ('Taskers') across professional, technical, domestic, logistics, creative, and lifestyle service categories. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and from whom; why we collect it and the legal basis for doing so; how we use, store, share, and protect your data; how long we retain your data; your rights as a data subject and how to exercise them; and how to contact us with queries, complaints, or requests. This Policy applies to all users of the Tasker4u platform including Clients, Taskers, visitors, and any other persons who interact with our digital services, whether through our website, mobile application, APIs, or any related platform. We are committed to processing your personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (NDPR), and all other applicable Nigerian and international data protection laws.

2. Who Is the Data Controller

Tasker4u acts as the Data Controller in respect of all Personal Data collected through the Platform. As Data Controller, we determine the purposes for which and the means by which your Personal Data is processed. Where we engage third parties to process Personal Data on our behalf (Data Processors), we ensure that appropriate data processing agreements are in place in compliance with the NDPA and applicable law.

3. Information We Collect

Account Registration: When you create a Tasker4u account, we collect your full legal name, email address, phone number, residential or business address, date of birth (for age verification), profile photograph, username and password (stored in encrypted form), and government-issued identification (NIN, BVN, Driver's Licence, Voter's Card, International Passport) where required. Tasker-Specific Information: Professional qualifications, certifications, and credentials; skills, specialisations, and service categories; work history and professional experience; portfolio and evidence of prior work; availability schedule; ratings, reviews, and performance history. Financial Information: Bank account details for payout purposes; wallet balance and transaction history; refund and dispute records; tax identification information where legally required. Automatically Collected: IP address, device type and model, operating system, browser type, mobile network information, unique device identifiers, log files and crash reports, usage patterns, and location data (with your prior consent).

4. Legal Basis for Processing

In accordance with the NDPA 2023, we process your Personal Data only where we have a valid lawful basis: • Performance of a contract: Processing necessary to provide our services to you • Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with Nigerian law • Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests • Consent: Processing based on your freely given, specific, and informed consent Where we rely on consent as our legal basis, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

5. How We Use Your Personal Data

Platform Operations: Creating, authenticating, and managing your user account; verifying your identity; matching Clients with appropriate Taskers; processing bookings and payments; facilitating in-platform communications; generating invoices and transaction histories. Safety and Trust: Verifying the identity of Taskers through government-issued ID and background screening; detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent transactions; monitoring platform activity for compliance; sharing relevant information with law enforcement where legally required. Customer Support: Responding to user queries, complaints, and support requests; investigating disputes; facilitating refunds and resolution decisions. Marketing (Opt-in only): Sending promotional emails, push notifications, and SMS marketing where you have opted in. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by emailing privacy@tasker4u.com with subject line 'unsubscribe'.

6. How We Share Your Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Data to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share your data only in the following carefully limited circumstances: With Other Platform Users: Tasker profiles (name, ratings, skills, service history) are visible to Clients. Client booking details and task descriptions are shared with the assigned Tasker. We do not share financial information, government ID, or direct contact details between users. With Third-Party Service Providers: Payment processors (Kora, Paystack); cloud hosting providers; identity verification providers for KYC; SMS and email service providers; analytics providers; fraud and security monitoring providers. All processors are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). With Regulatory and Legal Authorities: Where required by law, court orders, or lawful requests from the Nigerian Police Force, EFCC, ICPC, FCCPC, or other competent authorities.

7. Data Retention

We retain Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, as required by applicable law, or as needed to protect our legitimate interests. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and up to 7 years after closure in compliance with CAMA 2020 and FIRS requirements. Transaction records are retained for 7 years. Where retention is no longer required or justified, we securely delete or anonymise the data.

8. Data Security

We implement a comprehensive security framework including: • End-to-end encryption for data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher • Encryption of sensitive data at rest using AES-256 or equivalent standards • Secure tokenisation of payment card data (no raw card data stored on our servers) • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) • Regular automated vulnerability scanning and penetration testing • Role-based access controls and mandatory data protection training for all staff In the event of a Data Breach, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) within 72 hours and notify affected users without undue delay where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights.

9. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the following rights: • Right of access: Obtain confirmation of whether we process your data and receive a copy • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances • Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent • Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests • Right to lodge a complaint: With the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) To exercise any of these rights, submit a written request to privacy@tasker4u.com with subject line 'Data Subject Rights Request'. We will respond within 30 days. Requests are free of charge, except where manifestly unfounded or excessive.

10. Location Data

We collect location data only with your explicit permission. We request access through your operating system's permission dialogue before any location collection begins. Location data is retained for 90 days from the date of collection and then permanently deleted. It is accessible only to Tasker4u's platform matching systems, the relevant Tasker/Client in the context of an active booking, and authorised staff. You may revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings. We do not sell location data or use it for advertising profiling.

11. Children's Privacy

Tasker4u is not directed at individuals under the age of 18 years. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from minors. If we become aware we have collected data from a person under 18, we will immediately suspend the relevant account, permanently delete all associated Personal Data within 14 days, and notify a parent or legal guardian where contact information is available. Contact privacy@tasker4u.com if you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Where a change is material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect and/or by a prominent notice within the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. All previous versions are archived and available upon request at privacy@tasker4u.com.
