1. Introduction and About Tasker4U
Tasker4u is an online marketplace technology platform registered and operating in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Tasker4u facilitates connections between individuals and businesses seeking services ("Clients") and independent service providers ("Taskers"). The Company provides the technology infrastructure through which these parties may find, engage, and transact with each other.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tasker4u website, mobile application, software, communications, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform"). These Terms are binding in accordance with: Nigerian Communications Act, 2003; Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA), 2018; Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA), 2023; Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended 2024); Consumer Protection Framework of the FCCPC; CBN Regulations on Electronic Payments and Fintech Operations; NITDA Guidelines; and all other applicable federal and state laws of Nigeria.
2. Definitions
"Client" means a User who requests, purchases, or engages services through the Platform.
"Tasker" means an independent contractor, artisan, freelancer, technician, professional, or service provider who offers services through the Platform. Taskers are not employees, agents, or representatives of Tasker4u.
"User" means any individual, business entity, or organisation accessing, registering on, or using the Platform in any capacity.
"Services" means any work, task, labour, delivery, consultancy, technical assistance, professional service, or other activity offered or requested through the Platform.
"Platform" means the Tasker4u website, mobile application, software, APIs, communication tools, and all associated digital infrastructure.
"Booking" means a confirmed engagement between a Client and a Tasker for the performance of specified Services.
"Wallet" means any digital payment or escrow account operated by or integrated into the Platform for the holding and transfer of funds.
3. Eligibility and Capacity to Contract
To use Tasker4u, you must: be at least 18 years of age; have legal capacity under Nigerian law to enter into binding agreements; not be prohibited by law from entering contracts in Nigeria; provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration; use the Platform in full compliance with all applicable Nigerian laws.
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you satisfy the above requirements. If using on behalf of a company, you further represent that you have authority to bind such entity. Tasker4u reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts where requirements are not satisfied.
4. User Accounts
Users are required to create an account to access core features. You agree to: provide accurate, current, and complete information; maintain and promptly update your account information; keep login credentials strictly confidential; accept full responsibility for all activities conducted under your account; notify Tasker4u immediately at support@tasker4u.com upon becoming aware of any unauthorised access or security breach.
Tasker4u may require government-issued identification, BVN, NIN, biometric or facial verification, proof of address, and business registration documents (CAC) where applicable. Each User is permitted to maintain only one active account. Creation of multiple accounts is strictly prohibited.
5. Role of Tasker4U — Marketplace Facilitator
Tasker4u operates solely as a technology-enabled marketplace facilitator. The Company: does not employ Taskers and does not create any employer-employee relationship; does not supervise, direct, or control the manner in which Taskers perform Services; does not guarantee the quality, legality, suitability, safety, or completion of any Services; does not guarantee the conduct or identity of any User; and is not a party to any agreement formed directly between Clients and Taskers.
Taskers operate as independent contractors and are solely responsible for their services, applicable taxes, permits, licences, insurance, professional indemnity, tools, equipment, and compliance with all applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create a partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or franchise relationship between Tasker4u and any User.
6. Bookings and Service Agreements
When a Client submits a Booking and a Tasker accepts it, a direct contractual relationship (a "Service Agreement") is formed between the Client and the Tasker. Tasker4u is not a party to that agreement.
Clients agree to pay all applicable fees in connection with a confirmed Booking. Taskers agree to perform the requested Services professionally, lawfully, and in accordance with agreed specifications. Modifications to a confirmed Booking must be agreed to by both parties.
7. User Obligations
All Users are required to: act lawfully, honestly, and respectfully; provide accurate and complete information at all times; honour all confirmed appointments, Bookings, and obligations; avoid any fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading conduct; comply with all applicable Platform policies and these Terms; cooperate fully during any investigation, dispute resolution, or regulatory inquiry; comply with all applicable tax obligations under PITA and CITA; report suspected fraud, illegal activity, or policy violations; and maintain appropriate professional standards where applicable.
8. Prohibited Activities
Users must not: violate any applicable Nigerian law; post false, deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading information; engage in harassment, intimidation, or discrimination; upload or transmit harmful software, viruses, or malware; circumvent the Platform's payment systems or commission structures; create fake, duplicate, or impersonation accounts; impersonate any person, entity, or Tasker4u personnel; use the Platform for money laundering or fraud; offer, facilitate, or request illegal or dangerous services without proper authorisation; solicit Users outside the Platform to circumvent fees; infringe intellectual property rights; exploit, groom, or facilitate harm to minors; collect personal data of other Users without lawful authority; or engage in price fixing, bid rigging, or anti-competitive conduct contrary to the FCCPA, 2018.
Tasker4u reserves the right to remove prohibited content, restrict features, or suspend and permanently terminate accounts of offending Users, and to report criminal conduct to the Nigerian Police Force, the EFCC, NITDA, or any other relevant authority.
9. Payments, Fees, and Financial Transactions
All payments must be made through the Platform's designated payment channels. Payments made outside the Platform do not benefit from the Platform's escrow, dispute resolution, or consumer protection mechanisms. All transactions shall be conducted in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless otherwise expressly permitted.
Taskers will receive payouts after successful task completion confirmed by the Client, completion of any applicable fraud review period, and deduction of applicable commissions, taxes, refunds, penalties, or platform fees. Taskers are solely responsible for declaring and remitting all applicable taxes on earnings.
All financial transactions are subject to applicable AML and KYC requirements. Tasker4u reserves the right to report suspicious transactions to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).
10. Cancellations and Refunds
Clients may cancel Bookings subject to the cancellation policy applicable at the time of Booking. Cancellation fees may apply.
Frequent, unjustified, or last-minute cancellations by Taskers may result in reduced search visibility and ranking, financial penalties, temporary account suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform.
Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the FCCPA, 2018. Where a User is dissatisfied with a refund determination, they retain the right to seek redress through the Consumer Mediation Panel of the FCCPC or through competent Nigerian courts.
11. Ratings and Reviews
Users may submit ratings and reviews based on genuine service experiences following a completed Booking. All reviews must be truthful, fair, and based on actual experience. Reviews must comply with Nigerian defamation law and must not contain hate speech, threats, harassment, ethnic slurs, false or fabricated statements, defamatory content, fraudulent claims, or sensitive personal information of other Users.
Tasker4u reserves the right to remove, edit, or decline to publish reviews that violate these standards.
12. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property rights in the Platform are owned by or licenced to Tasker4u and are protected under the Copyright Act, 2022 (Nigeria), Trade Marks Act, Cap T13, LFN 2004, and Patents and Designs Act, Cap P2, LFN 2004.
Users may not, without prior written authorisation: copy, reproduce, or duplicate any part of the Platform; modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works; distribute, publish, or commercially exploit Platform materials; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any Platform software; or remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice. Unauthorised use of Tasker4u's intellectual property is a civil and potentially criminal offence under Nigerian law.
13. Data Protection and Privacy
Tasker4u is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all Users in full compliance with the NDPA 2023, NDPR 2019, and Guidelines issued by the NDPC.
Users have the following rights under the NDPA, 2023: right of access; right to rectify inaccurate data; right to erasure (subject to legal obligations); right to data portability; right to withdraw consent; and right to lodge a complaint with the NDPC.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, Tasker4u makes no warranty regarding the quality, fitness, safety, or legality of Services offered by Taskers; the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Content or information on the Platform; uninterrupted or error-free Platform availability; the conduct, identity, or character of any User; or the suitability of the Platform for any particular purpose.
Nothing in this clause shall exclude or limit any rights that Users have under the FCCPA, 2018, that cannot be excluded by contract.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, Tasker4u shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or exemplary damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill; business interruption or economic loss; property damage or personal injury arising from acts or omissions of Taskers; fraud, misrepresentation, or misconduct by Users; service failures, delays, or non-performance by Taskers; data loss or security incidents not attributable to Tasker4u's gross negligence; or losses arising from unauthorised access where reasonable security measures were in place.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, Tasker4u's total aggregate liability to any User shall not exceed the total fees paid by or on behalf of such User to the Platform in the three (3) calendar months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
16. Account Suspension and Termination
Tasker4u reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any User account, with or without prior notice, for: fraudulent conduct or submission of false information; material violation of these Terms or applicable Platform policies; illegal activity or regulatory non-compliance; abusive, threatening, or harassing conduct; submission of fake, coordinated, or malicious reviews; circumvention of the Platform's payment systems; court order, regulatory direction, or law enforcement request; or failure to complete mandatory verification requirements.
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Users may appeal account suspension decisions by contacting legal@tasker4u.com within 14 days of receiving notice of suspension.
17. Dispute Resolution
Disputes between Clients and Taskers should first be reported through the Platform's internal dispute resolution channels. Tasker4u may, in its discretion, attempt to mediate such disputes.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may refer the matter to the Consumer Mediation Panel of the FCCPC; arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act, 2023 (Nigeria); or pursue legal proceedings in a competent Nigerian court.
Users retain all rights conferred upon them by applicable Nigerian consumer protection legislation and shall not be required to waive statutory rights as a condition of using the Platform.
18. Consumer Protection Rights
These Terms do not and shall not affect any statutory rights that Users have as consumers under Nigerian law, including those conferred by the FCCPA, 2018. Consumers have the right to receive products and services of acceptable quality; full disclosure of pricing and terms before entering any transaction; protection from false, deceptive, or misleading representations; fair, honest, and reasonable dealing; and to lodge complaints with the FCCPC.
Any provision of these Terms that purports to exclude or limit rights that are non-excludable under the FCCPA or other mandatory consumer protection law is void to that extent.
19. Changes to These Terms
Tasker4u reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Where material changes are made, Tasker4u will provide not less than 14 days' notice to Users through the Platform, via email, or through such other means as are reasonably practical. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes. Where a User does not accept revised Terms, they must cease using the Platform and may close their account.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the State of Oyo, Nigeria, without prejudice to Tasker4u's right to seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction.
